Old London Maps
It's always lovely to try and find where our ancestors once lived isn't it? The sad thing is though, that many address we have from the early Census returns, no longer exist. For many reasons, including War and major redevelopment, rows of houses and entire streets and areas no longer exist how they used to. Luckily for us, there is a wealth of maps available online, detailing what streets and areas of London at the end of the 19th Century and start of the 20th.
While it may not let us see what the properties looked like, it can be a great acheivement to be able to place the roads that these people once lived in. I have included a selection of maps that I have found around the internet that have been a great help to me in my Research.
